suggested combat posting format

Suggested Format for combat round posts:

In Character content – describe player actions creatively in normal font:

Text description of character reaction to game situation, and indication of intended action.
Please use 3rd person.

Out of Character Content – give technical details of round intentions in italics, and prefaced ‘OOC:’

In order consider including the the following contet:

  • Queries for GM
  • OOC indicator of what the character is looking to achieve.
  • specifically include and consider being specific against the actions allowed in combat
  • If, then, else type descriptions of possible options per scenario may prove useful for flow of the game”
  • roll results for the relevant combat rolls/checks the character will be taking (remember all rolls to be done using the rules list under roll the dice)

NB: don’t forget saving a setup for your standard rolls will be useful, including initiative only on the first round of combat.

Example:

GM Post:

The goblins begin to charge the party.

Player Post in response:

Fletch the Archer draws a bead on the leading Goblin, pausing a split second to aim for the juglar in his neck. Fletch smoothly looses the arrow.

OOC:
Initiative (1d20 + 4): 13 + 4 = 17

Just taking Standard Attack Action
Longbow attack #1 (1d20 + 7): 17 + 7 = 24
Longbow damage #1 (1d6 + 2): 3 + 2 = 5

Comments: Using deadly aim: -1 attack; 2 damage
Attack bonus: BAB + Dex – Deadly aim: 4 + 4 – 1 = 7
